Distribution of relief goods

ISLAMABAD:
A team of executive committee members of the Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association (PFOWA) visited a far-flung flood affected village in Nowshera on Tuesday and distributed relief items.

Under the supervision of President PFOWA, Taranum Salman Bashir, two truck loads of food rations, warm clothes, quilts and other items of daily use were distributed among the families in the village.

PFOWA distributed these items in the hopes that it would support the families through the winter. This was the third tranche of flood relief items distributed by the PFOWA.

Earlier, PFOWA had dispatched two truck loads of goods through Pakistan Navy to Charsadda. A truck load of medicines was donated to media relief teams as well, for distribution in the remote areas of Balochistan.

A consignment of relief items, collected by the Pakistani Consulate General in Glasgow, reaching the Karachi port shortly, will be handed over to the Pakistan Navy for delivery in the flood affected areas of Sindh and Balochistan.

Besides relief work, PFOWA aims to contribute to the rehabilitation and reconstruction phase by taking up health and education projects in the flood affected areas.

PFOWA is a non-profitable charitable organisation, dedicated to the welfare of low income employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the society at large.
