Legal battles: CDA wants lawyers for each wing

Lawyers to be held responsible and answerable in cases where decisions went against authority

ISLAMABAD:
Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Maroof Afzal has ordered that the authority’s law wing be made more proactive, effective and efficient for early disposal of cases pending in different courts. Chairing a high-level meeting at CDA Headquarters to review the performance  of the authority’s law wing, Afzal was given progress reports on different cases pending in courts and details of pending inquiries. The chairman directed to depute lawyers in each wing of the civic agency who will be responsible for follow up of cases in their respective wings and submit progress reports on a regular basis. He said in future the deputed lawyer of the respective wing will be held responsible and answerable in cases where decisions went against the authority. He further said officers against whom inquires are being conducted will not be posted in the same department so that they cannot influence the inquiry.
