Police said on Tuesday that a man had killed his wife after an argument in Tandlianwala. They said Sheikh Yaqub, a resident of Chak 393-GB, had been angry with Zahida Bibi, his wife for being childless. Police said he had strangled her after an argument. Sheikh Akbar, a relative of the deceased, said they had been married for 15 years. He said they had frequently exchanged barbs regarding the issue. Akbar said Yaqub had frequently denigrated her for failing to conceive and Bibi used to taunt him for being impotent. Tandlianwala Station House Officer Aftab Alam said a team had reached the spot after being intimated. He said the man had been arrested in a raid and a case had been registered against him. Alam said he had confessed to killing Bibi. He said the body of the deceased had been sent to a mortuary for autopsy.
