Oil prices: ‘Global mechanism unobserved’

Yakoob said that PML-N govt, as per its claim of being the business and investment friendly, should reduce prices

KARACHI:
The Lasbela Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has demanded the government to reduce petroleum prices by at least Rs10 per litre as world oil prices are constantly falling. LCCI President Yakoob Karim said in a statement that the government was bound to practice the price mechanism of global petroleum swings and ratios of differing prices should be established and controlled by the government. But he said that unfortunately it was not being practiced by the present government by following the footsteps of previous regimes. Yakoob said that PML-N government, as per its claim of being the business and investment friendly, should reduce prices. He said that the masses and the industry in particular needed some sigh of relief at this juncture when everyone remains under the heavy burden of unaffordable price of utilities.
