Loadshedding ends for Eid

Pepco spokes­person says the electr­icity demand and supply gap has been filled.

The Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco) on Tuesday announced an end to loadshedding, saying the electricity shortfall has been covered.

A Pepco spokesperson said the gap between electricity demand and supply has been filled.


He informed that hydel-power in the country is producing 5,650 megawatts, thermal 1,880 megawatts and IPPs are contributing 3,955 megawatts of electricity. He added that rental power plants are producing 30 megawatts.

It was also informed that 720 megawatts of electricity is being provided to Karachi Electricity Supply Company (KESC).
