A petition has been filed in Lahore High Court seeking a record of cases against Tahirul Qadri and a report on progress made in these cases.
The petition was filed by Amjad Ali through Fahad Siddiqui. Siddiqui said 40 cases had been registered against Qadri, including 11 registered under various sections of Anti-Terrorism Act.
He said Qadri had not obtained bail in any case.
He asked the court to direct the home secretary and the IGP to a submit record of these cases and a report on progress made in investigations.
He also sought Qadri’s arrest but removed the demand after an objection by the registrar’s office.
