Over Rs44 billion spent on war on terror in five years, NA told
Over Rs23.8 billion were spent in Islamabad Capital Territory alone, Rs3 billion in Fata, Rs8.5 billion in K-P

The National Assembly was informed on Monday that over Rs44 billion have been spent on the war against terror in last five years, Radio Pakistan reported.
In a written reply submitted by the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the House was informed that out of total Rs44 billion were spent, with Rs23.8 billion in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) alone.
The House was told that approximately Rs3 billion were spent in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and over Rs8.5 billion were spent in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). It further stated that over Rs7 billion were spent by Punjab Rangers and total of Rs1.6 billion spent in Balochistan.
The money spent in ICT was more than the amount spent in K-P, FATA, Punjab and Balcohistan combined.
Resolutions passed
National Assembly passed a unanimous resolution assuring Pakistan's continued political, moral and diplomatic support to the just struggle of the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their right to self-determination enshrined in UN resolutions.
The resolution, moved by Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Chaudhry Barjees Tahir, lauded the valiant people of Jammu and Kashmir for resisting Indian occupation despite brutal atrocities being perpetrated by the Indian security forces.
The House on Monday also passed a resolution condemning the recent attack on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Quetta.
Development projects in Balochistan
Parliamentary Secretary for Planning and Development Syed Muhammad Saqlain informed the House that currently the work on different development projects at a cost of Rs40 billion were underway in Balochistan.
Remittances
Parliamentary Secretary for Finance Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan told the House that during the 2013-14 fiscal year, total remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis were $15.83 billion.
The government is taking necessary steps to steps to stop overseas Pakistanis from sending money through illegal channels, the secretary added.
