Quaid-e-Azam Trophy: Imran Butt's unbeaten century puts SNGPL in strong position
UBL post 217 run lead over Peshawar Panthers. Dolphins in commanding position with a 99 run lead over ZTBL

Imran Butt’s unbeaten century helped SNGPL post a strong total in their first innings on day two of the third round fixture of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Gold at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
Butt scored 143 runs off 255 balls with wicket-keeper Adnan Akmal supporting him with at 66 off 136 balls to take SNGPL to 318-5 in 90 overs at the end of day two. Muhammad Rizwan chipped in with a well crafted 77 off 114 balls.
Bilawal claimed three for 55 with Malik Aftab and Raza Ali Dar claiming one each.
Dolphins in commanding position
In ZTBL versus Karachi Dolphins, Adeel Malik took five wickets for the Dolphins to restrict ZTBL to just 118 runs in their first innings as the entire team was skittled out in just 40.2 overs.
In addition to Malik’s five wicket haul, Dolphin’s leading wicket taker Shahzaib Ahmed Khan claimed three more scalps and Baber Rehman took two giving away 24 and 20 runs respectively.
At the end of play on Saturday, Dolphins had scored 217-2 in 65 overs of their second innings, a lead of 99 runs. Dolphin's top scorer Fazal Subhan smashed 163 runs with Saad Ali at 67.
UBL make Panthers sweat
Peshawar Panthers were made to sweat by UBL on their home ground on Saturday.
Having bowled the Panthers out for a paltry 98 in their first innings, UBL reached 315-5 in 114 overs to end their first innings on day two, a lead of 217 runs.
Hamza Paracha scored 111 off 261 balls and Ali Asad scored 94 off 217 balls.
Azizulah and Afaq Ahmed took two wickets each for Panthers.
Tigers set a mountain for Wapda to climb
Multan Tigers, who continued their first innings from the overnight score of 6-0, added 273 runs to their total on day two to score 279-9 in 89 overs against WAPDA.
Ahmed Rasheed smashed 73 off 128 balls and Muhammad Ali Niazi was batting on 65 off 153 balls. Waqas Masood took four and Muhammad Ali Bhutta took three in WAPDA’s 89 overs spell.
Rain delays
Meanwhile, Rain delayed matches in the twin cities did not get to see a full day even on day two as in a match between NBP and Islamabad Leopards, the bakers scored 96 runs as only 44 over were played as the rain its again.
Umar Waheed 42 and Muhammad Nawaz 24 were the top-scorers from NBP.
Whereas, only 36 overs were bowled at Pindi Stadium in Rawalpindi on which PQA scored 134 runs with the loss of five wickets. Khalid Latif 43, Shahzaid Hasan 41 and Asim Kamal batting on 24 are the top-scores, while all five wickets were claimed by Rizwan Akbar giving away 58.
