Punjab govt seeks additional Rangers deloyment during Muharram
Rangers will be deployed in more than 12 sensitive districts

Punjab government sought on Saturday more contingents of Rangers to be deployed in sensitive districts during the month of Muharram, Express News reported.
Rangers will be deployed in more than 12 sensitive districts, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sheikhupura, Rawalpindi among others.
On October 24, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the government had prioritised the maintenance of law and order.
Shahbaz was speaking at a meeting convened to review the law and order situation and security arrangements for Ashura. He said no effort should be spared to protect the life and property of people.
The chief minister added that the government would use all resources at its disposal to maintain order. He said officials should ensure that security plans were strictly followed across Punjab.
