Muharram Code: AJK police outlaws all hate speech

Police will film the Muharram processions to ensure the mourners security

MUZAFFARABAD:
The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) police issued on Wednesday, a nine-point code of conduct to ensure peace and security during Muharram in Muzaffarabad division. “The points agreed by both the sects also include ban on use of loudspeakers in public places, wall chalking, publication of hate material and the display of firearms,” SSP Muzaffarabad Irfan Masood Kashfi told a press conference. Regarding security measures he said police are collecting data of people staying in hotels and guest houses and monitoring entry and exit points of Muzaffarabad. He said over a 1,000 policemen would be deployed for security of the Muharram processions and the 33 Imambargahs. “Six out of 33 Imambargahs are sensitive,” SSP Kashfi added. Police will film the Muharram processions to ensure the mourners security.
