Police said on Wednesday that two men had beaten up a woman polio worker in Lohari Gate area. They said a team had gone to a house in Taqi Mohalla to administer drops to a child as part of the anti-polio campaign. Police said the residents declined their vaccine. They said when Rukhsana Shehzad, a polio worker, had tried to reason with them Farooq and Dilawez threatened her with dire consequences unless the polio team left immediately. They said the men beat up Shehzad after an argument. Police said a team had arrested them on the team’s complaint.
