Middle East: Exporting manpower for mega events
Increase of 16% in export of manpower from Pakistan recorded during January to September 2014, compared to last year

Efforts are under way to export maximum manpower to the Middle East especially for the two upcoming international events including the Dubai Expo 2020 and the Qatar Fifa World Cup 2022. Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Managing Director Habibur Rehman said on Tuesday that a strategy was being finalised in consultation with federal and provincial stakeholders in order for the opportunity to be effectively utilised. Training institutions are being taken on board to impart skills relating to the expo and World Cup requirements throughout the country, he added. Rehman informed that there is an increase of 16% in export of manpower from Pakistan during January to September 2014, as 566,660 people had proceeded abroad for employment as compared to 485,499 during the same period in 2013.
