Nationalist Sentiments: ‘Take back call for separate province'

Sanan Qureshi says JSQM workers would stage sit-ins from October 26 to 29 in Ghotki, Kandhkot, Shikarpur and Larkana

HYDERABAD:
The Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) announced that it would stage demonstrations in front of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) offices in various districts to protest against their demand to divide the province. Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, JSQM chairperson Sanan Qureshi said that JSQM workers would stage sit-ins from October 26 to 29 in Ghotki, Kandhkot, Shikarpur and Larkana. “The call to divide Sindh is an affront to the people of Sindh,” said Qureshi, whose father Bashir Qureshi headed the JSQM before he died in May 2012. The party’s vice-chairperson Dr Niaz Kalani said the Urdu-speaking people should also oppose such a demand as they are as much a part of Sindh as its natives. He said if the MQM did not draw back its demand even after the series of protests, the JSQM will consider laying a siege to the MQM headquarters in Karachi.
