Poor partnership: Man strangles wife

The body was taken to Shaikh Zayed Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan for post mortem examination

A man strangled his wife on Tuesday. A police spokesman said Sahab Ali, a resident of Head Islam Hasilpur, had married Najeeban Bibi a few years ago. He said the couple frequently quarrelled because Ali wanted to re-marry. He said on Tuesday, he again sought Najeeban Bibi’s permission which she denied. He said Ali then strangled her and fled. Police have registered a complaint at the request of her brother. Separately, the body of a woman was fished out from Sadiq Branch Canal. Witnesses told police that they spotted a sack floating in the canal. They said when they opened the sack, they found the woman’s body inside. Police said her throat had been slit. The body was taken to Shaikh Zayed Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan for post mortem examination. No identity papers were found on the body.
