Fighting dengue: 52,022 houses checked for larvae
DCO says an anti-dengue campaign had been started in all nine towns of the city

During a dengue surveillance campaign, special squads of the city district government Lahore on Monday, checked 52,022 houses and 16,080 outdoor places in the city. This was stated by District Coordination Officer (DCO) Captain (retd) Muhammad Usman during a meeting. The DCO said that an anti-dengue campaign had been started in all nine towns of the city. “Implementation of standard operation procedures (SOPs) of dengue prevention will be ensured at every cost,” he told the meeting. The health EDO and Dengue Project in charge briefed the district coordination officer about anti-dengue measures being taken in the city. Seven cases had been registered over poor arrangements of cleanliness and 113 graveyards, 274 junkyards and 356 tyre shops were checked by the dengue staff.
