He asked for security to be put on high alert around all temples and religious venues for province’s Hindu community
KARACHI:
Sindh IG Ghulam Haider Jamali told the police department on Monday to tighten security arrangements for minority communities on the eve of the Hindu festival of Diwali. He asked for security to be put on high alert around all temples and religious venues for the province’s Hindu community. “As worshippers will be visiting their temples during the three-day celebration, all measures must be in place to protect them,” he said. He also asked officials to develop a foolproof plan in coordination with public and minority representatives, while taking care to respect the sensitivities of the minorities.
