Encounter: SHO injured by ‘outlaws’ near Kashmore
A group of outlaws opened fire at a police van at Machi Patan within Badani police limits near Kashmore on Sunday night, injuring the Badani SHO.
SHO Niaz Khoso was on routine patrol when a group of armed outlaws hiding in the bushes opened fire upon the vehicle. The assailants fled when the police retaliated. SHO Khoso, who was seriously injured, was reportedly rushed to Kashmore hospital and then referred to the Rahim Yar Khan hospital in critical condition.
Kashmore-Kandhkot SSP Younis Chandio told The Express Tribune that SHO Khoso had received information that a gang of criminals was hiding near Machi Patan. He said that Khoso took a police contingent to the scene and blocked the road, when six armed men on motorcycles appeared and opened fire.
Chandio added that Khoso received bullet injuries and was shifted to Guddu hospital, where he was operated upon and was now out of danger. He further said that the police had found a motorcycle and a mobile phone left behind by the assailants.
