Let sleeping dogs lie: Four killed, two injured in clash over canine
Four people were shot dead and two others were injured in a clash over a snappy dog in Qaziyan village, Khalabat Township on Monday.
Police quoted Izharul Haq saying his father Abdul Haq was en route to their vegetable farm when the pet dog of Sarfraz Khan attacked him. While Haq was unharmed, he decided to complain to Sarfraz Khan about the animal.
A heated argument then ensued and Sarfraz allegedly opened fire at Abdul Haq. Izhar added that his family rushed to the scene to rescue his father, but Sarfraz and his associates continued firing. Abdul Haq and his son Malik Ishtiaq died in the ensuing shoot-out, while Sarfraz Khan and his brother Mir Sultan were also killed.
Sarfraz’s group, on the other hand, accused Izharul Haq of attacking first. The injured were referred to Abbottabad Ayub Medical Complex in critical condition.
