Culprits unknown: Bomb blast in schoolteacher’s hujra
Khasadar line officer confirmed the incident and said they had set up checkpoints at various locations in the area
JAMRUD:
The main gate of schoolteacher Sher Ali Afridi’s hujra was destroyed and its boundary wall partially damaged in Godar, Jamrud when a bomb planted by unidentified militants went off on Saturday night. Locals said some unidentified men planted an explosive near the hujra around 9pm and fled. No human loss was reported. Afridi used to work as a facilitator for NGOs by helping them with contracts for development projects, said people of the neighbourhood. They suspected the explosive device was planted by extortionists as Afridi had earlier been blackmailed by some unidentified people for money. Khasadar line officer Said Alam Afridi confirmed the incident and said they had set up checkpoints at various locations in the area.
