Reaction to allegations: MQM questions PPP over its performance during ‘43-year rule’
Says people in Naudero and Larkana are still living a miserable life

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has criticised Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for levelling baseless allegations against Altaf Hussain during his speech at Mazar-e-Quaid on Saturday.
In a statement issued by the Rabita Committee late Saturday night, the party said that Altaf Hussain “truly represents the voice of the poor people of Sindh who realise that the MQM is the only party which represents the lower class.
“It is the result of the MQM chief’s struggle that feudal and dynastic politics are considered a curse on the country now,” it stated.
The Rabita Committee questioned the PPP, saying “what good have you done in past 43 years for the poor people of Sindh despite having complete authority?
“What development has been carried out in Naudero and Larkana in 43 years? People there are forced to live a miserable life in mud-houses,” it said.
The Rabita Committee recalled development work carried out by the MQM in Karachi and said “when given power through the local government system, we developed the infrastructure of the city.”
“The PPP has done nothing to develop the infrastructure of the city. In fact they have spoilt government institutions,” the statement said. “The people of Karachi are aware that the PPP has given nothing to Karachi except death and sorrow.”
The Rabitta Committee said that the Sindh government doesn’t even pay salaries of municipal workers, despite drawing huge sums of money from the federal government in the name of ‘Karachi fund’.
Replying to Bilawal’s criticism against the provincial health ministry, the MQM questioned the performance of other ministries that are under the direct control of the PPP. “Who should people hold responsible for this?”
The MQM stated that the health ministry is also run indirectly by PPP’s influential personalities and the provincial health minister doesn’t hold authority to transfer a single official — health budget is also not distributed properly.
“On the one hand Bilawal talks about working together, but the on the other hand he puts blames on the MQM. What policy is this?”
