Extra-judicial killing: Murder case ordered against nine cops
They are accused of killing three citizens in a fake encounter, police say they were proclaimed offenders.

An additional sessions judge on Saturday ordered registration of a case against nine police officials, including three station house officers, on charges of killing three citizens in a fake encounter.
Satiana police had claimed to have killed three proclaimed offenders - Muhammad Ishaq, Abdul Ghafoor and Mumtaz - in an encounter on August 19 near Chak 36-GB.
City Police Officer (CPO) Sohail Habib Tajik had told The Express Tribune that Rodala Road police had received information that six proclaimed offenders were hiding at a house at Chak 278-GB.
He said Roadala Road SHO Yousuf Shehzad had led a raiding team and conducted a raid on August 18.
He said the inmates had opened fire at the police party and managed to escape towards Satiana Road police station.
He said Satiana police Sub Inspector Muhammad Khalid had set up pickets in the area and stopped two motorbikes carrying six men. He said the riders had shot at the police team and tried to escape.
He said police had shot and killed three men whereas their accomplices managed to escape.
The CPO said two Kalashnikov rifles, a repeater gun and a motorbike were seized.
He said the men were later identified as Muhammad Ishaq alias Pappu, Abdul Ghafoor and Mumtaz alias Baboo.
The CPO said the men were wanted in a number of murder and robbery cases.
Satiana police had registered a case on the complaint of Roadala Road SHO against the six men and started investigation.
On Saturday, one Surayya Bibi, the widow of Muhammad Ishaq, filed a petition and said Satiana police had killed her husband in a fake encounter.
She said a murder case should be registered against the police officials and officers who took part in the encounter and killed innocent citizens.
The court then ordered Satiana police to register a against 9 police officials who took part in the encounter including SHO Yousuf Shehzad, SHO Khalid Randhawa and SHO Ayub Sahi.
The court also ordered the police to register case against the officials and submit copy of the FIR in the court.
