Sajjad seals one-day series for Pakistan ‘A’
Pakistan 'A' win the third unofficial one-day against West Indies ‘A’ and seal the series 2-0.
Aamer Sajjad and Faisal Iqbal combined to add 98 for the fifth wicket as Pakistan ‘A’ overhauled the 166-run target in the last over to win the third unofficial one-day against West Indies ‘A’ and seal the series 2-0.
Pakistan chose to field after the match at the Progress Park in St Andrew’s was reduced to 27 overs-a-side. The pair came together when Pakistan were at a precarious 32 for four. Iqbal played a captain’s knock of 58 while Sajjad remained unbeaten on 70 including three fours and three sixes.
Earlier, West Indies threw away a good start and had to settle for a modest 165. Andre Fletcher and Kieran Powell added 67 for the second wicket and looked set to reach their half-centuries before Yasir Shah broke the partnership. Three run-outs hampered the hosts’ progress and even though Jason Holder gave the innings a much-needed impetus at the end, the total was not enough.
