With Japanese assistance: Welfare health centre inaugurated in Mandi Bahauddin

Women Development Minister Hameeda Waheedud Din said on Friday that the establishment of mother and child welfare health centre would provide the people with quality medical facilities. She was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Mandi Bahauddin Khana Development Council Health Centre set up with Japanese assistance. Ambassador of Japan Hiroshi Inomata inaugurated the centre. Several lawmakers and district officials were also present on the occasion. She said the establishment of the centre was a milestone in improvements being made to public health facilities. Din thanked the Japanese ambassador for ensuring that the project was completed. Ambassador Inomata said Japan was cooperating with Pakistan in several sectors to empower women. He said this would enable them to overcome the challenges confronting them. Inomata said he hoped that the establishment of the centre would provide the people with quality facilities. He said bilateral cooperation between the two countries would be strengthened.



Din and Inomata later visited areas affected in the recent floods to review relief activities. The minister directed officials to accelerate the pace of the activities.
