Inflation: Index falls 1.13% during week
SPI for the combined income group also increased 1.10%

The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended October 16 registered a decrease of 1.13% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group stood at 209.14 points against 211.52 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group also increased 1.10% from 218.98 points in the previous week to 216.58 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group rose 3.32%. During the week, average prices of 11 items in a selected basket of goods fell, prices of 10 items rose and rates of remaining 32 items recorded no change.
