Serious efforts are needed to further promote economic and commercial relations between Turkey and Pakistan, said Turkish Prime Minister Professor Dr Ahmet Davutoglu during a meeting with Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan in Ankara.
According to a press release, Davutoglu stressed the need for focusing on trade, investment and connectivity and said he would soon visit Pakistan to co-chair a high-level meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
“Pakistan-Turkish relations are deep-rooted in history and are time-tested,” he stressed and remarked “Pakistan’s strength is Turkey’s strength.”
Dastgir briefed the Turkish premier about the steps taken by Pakistan to revitalise the economy and about various projects being initiated in the energy sector. He sought Turkish collaboration and investment in the energy schemes.
