Model Town riots: Witnesses summoned against Gullu
ATC summons prosecution witnesses for Oct 18 in a case involving Shahid Nazir alias Gullu Butt
LAHORE:
An anti-terrorism court on Thursday summoned prosecution witnesses for October 18 in a case involving Shahid Nazir alias Gullu Butt accused of vandalism during the June 17 police operation at the Minhajul Quran international secretariat in Model Town. Previously, the court had recorded statements of Head Constable Muhammad Boota and Constable Muhammad Imran. The prosecution witnesses had held Gullu Butt responsible for the damage to several vehicles in the rioting that had ensued. Judge Rai Ayub Khan Marth had indicted Butt on charges of vandalism. Police have said that he was involved in vandalism but were unable to say who had directed him in this regard. Butt is currently on bail.
