Heinous crime: Five-year-old raped, suspect arrested
Police conducted a number of raids before arresting Ashfaq from Khurarianwala

Police on Thursday arrested a man accused of raping a five-year-old girl in Chak 70-RB.
Muhammad Amjad, an uncle of the girl, told to The Express Tribune that Samina* had gone to a nearby shop to purchase candies. “Ashfaq alias Sharafat, a neighbour, abducted the girl by promising to give her candies. He took her to his house, where he was alone. He raped her before fleeing.
“On hearing the screams of the girl, some neighbours entered the house and took the girl to a local hospital,” Amjad said. He said that the condition of the girl was stable in the hospital.
Balochni SHO Abdul Ghafoor told The Express Tribune police had registered a case under the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and started investigation.
“A police team was formed which conducted a number of raids and then arrested Ashfaq from Khurarianwala. He has been put behind bars at the police station,” the SHO said.
Faisalabad City Police Officer (CPO) Dr Sohail Habib Tajik took notice of the incident and directed the Balochni SHO to complete the investigation without any delay and present him before a court.
