Gilani appeals for help to strengthen institutions
PM Gilani appeals for help from international community, says transparency and corruption are major issues.

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, while addressing the second session of the Pakistan Development Forum in Islamabad on Monday, appealed to the international community to help Pakistan strengthen its institutions.
The Prime Minister outlined numerous challenges the nation faced in the wake of the recent floods.
“Like many, we have issues of transparency and corruption. Again we do not invest enough in our social sectors but these are the common challenges in developing and many developed countries. That is why we seek your assistance, your, knowledge and expertise to help us in overcoming our challenges.”
Gilani spoke of his government and the steps taken by it, including numerous constitutional reforms towards good governance.
He said that he will always welcome positive criticism of the government, as his is a democratically elected government.
