Army continue winning streak
Former champions down Muslim FC, lead PPFL points table.
KARACHI:
Army continued their winning streak at the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) as they defeated Muslim FC 1-0 at the Jinnah Stadium in Islamabad yesterday.
It took ten minutes above the hour mark for Army’s Ansar Abbas to score the winner in the 71st minute of the match, after the first half had failed to deliver a result.
This is Army’s third win in the season which takes them to the top of table with nine points and the goal difference of +8.
On the other hand, Muslim FC, who are at the second position with nine points, suffered their second defeat in the season after playing five matches.
Karachi Port Trust (KPT) is on the third position after the first leg of the league.
Meanwhile, KRL will begin their title defence in Islamabad today. They will play their opening match against Baloch FC at Jinnah Stadium, while the matches in Lahore will kick-start with Wapda and NBP playing at the Railways Stadium.
