White cane day: Govt to help special children

The minister said the government is planning to launch various welfare projects for the betterment of special persons

Minister of State for National Health Service Saira Afzal Tarrar has claimed that the government is committed to providing all facilities to special persons.



Addressing participants of an awareness walk held on Wednesday to commemorate the White Cane Safety Day, Tarrar said the day “provided us the opportunity to acknowledge skills and services of special persons and express solidarity with them.”


The minister said the government is planning to launch various welfare projects for the betterment of special persons.


A large number of special children and members of the public participated in the walk that kicked off from the head office of Pakistan Baitul Mal and culminated at the Special Education Centre.


Pakistan Baitul Mal Managing-Director Barrister Abid Waheed Sheikh vowed to provide friendly environment to the special persons to help them excel in every field.
