Un mission: Former IGP returns from Sudan

He will report to the Establishment Division

Former Islamabad IGP Syed Kaleem Imam returned after serving as the Deputy Police Commissioner Operations at the United Nations African Hybrid mission at Darfur, Sudan.


Imam was appointed at the UN mission for peacekeeping in Sudan in October 2011 where he was supervising 3,772 personnel from 34 countries. He is one of the few police officers of Pakistan who have had the honour to head the UN force.


He was generally involved in overseeing patrols in the region, monitoring and mentoring local authorities, capacity-building of law enforcers, initiating quick-impact projects and restructuring of police.


He will report to the Establishment Division.
