New precedent: NA speaker meets secretariat staff
Speaker assures employees that their grievance will be heard on regular basis
ISLAMABAD:
National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq set a new precedent on Tuesday through an interaction with secretariat staff of lower cadres in which he not only lent ear to their grievances but also asked them to submit written complaints. According to details, the speaker had an interaction with Secretariat staff from BPS 1-15 and a statement issued by the NA secretariat on Tuesday said that it was the first ever such interaction in the Parliamentary history. The Speaker assured the employees that their grievance will be heard on regular basis and be addressed accordingly to the legal framework available within the existing National Assembly Secretariat rules. “Rules can be amended keeping in view the interest of the employees and effective working,” he assured. Sadiq informed the meeting that new HR policy was being framed in consultation with representatives of the employees.
