Candidacy challenged: Election tribunal barred from issuing verdict

LAHORE: Lahore High Court on Tuesday restrained an election tribunal from announcing its decision on a petition challenging the results of PP-78.

MPA Rashida Yaqoob said her opposing candidate Maulana Ahmad Ludhianvi had challenged the election results of PP-78 in an election tribunal.

She said the petition filed against her contained unverified documents.

The tribunal cannot decide such application under law, her counsel said.
