CCPO says teams would patrol areas round-the-clock in vehicles equipped with wireless

LAHORE: CCPO Muhammad Ameen said on Sunday that CCTV cameras would be installed along the route of the main Zuljinah procession on Ashura. He said cameras would be installed at places where major majalis would be held during Muharram. He said teams would patrol areas round-the-clock in vehicles equipped with wireless. Ameen said officials had been instructed to check the credentials of vehicles with revolving lights, tinted windows and government number plates. He said the military would assist the police in this regard. Ameen said instruction had been issued regarding the mobilisation of peace committees to maintain religious harmony during the holy month. He said a meeting would be convened soon to review the plan for Muharram.
