Drive save: 50 arrested for doing wheelies
Cheema ordered that no leniency be shown to those driving recklessly
LAHORE:
Traffic police have arrested 50 motorcyclists during a crackdown on those doing wheelies on public roads, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Tayyab Hafeez Cheema said on Saturday.
Cheema said that cases had been registered against the motorcyclists at Lorry Adda, Shafiqabad, Sanda, Shadman, Factory Area, Chuhng, Gulberg, Nawan Kot and Ichhra police stations.
The CTO said that violation of traffic rules not only disturbed the smooth flow of traffic but also frequently resulted in accidents.
Cheema ordered that no leniency be shown to those driving recklessly.
He directed the superintendents (SPs) and deputy superintendents to launch a campaign to educate citizens about traffic laws and regulations.
