Slight improvement: Nearly 53% pass intermediate part I exams
The pass percentage among boys was 41.86%, while the percentage among girls was 62.36%

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education on Friday announced the results of its intermediate part I annual examination.
This year 52.55% candidates passed the examination compared to 49.92% that had passed last year. Of the 134,585 candidates who appeared in the examination, 70,725 passed.
The pass percentage among girls was 20% higher than boys. Of the 64,392 boys who gave the exam, 26,954 were declared successful with the pass percentage of 41.86%. Of the 70,193 girls, 43,771 passed the exam.
The pass ratio among girls stood at 62.36%. Students can request rechecking of their papers within 15 days of the announcement of the results. Besides the board’s website, the results are also available through an SMS service. The board has also launched an android app allowing students to access the results on their cell phones.
