Inflation: Index rises 0.86% during week
The SPI for the combined income group also increased 0.90%

The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended October 9 registered a rise of 0.86% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group stood at 211.52 points against 209.71 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group also increased 0.90% from 217.02 points in the previous week to 218.98 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group rose 7.22%. During the week, average prices of nine items in a selected basket of goods fell, prices of 16 items rose and rates of remaining 28 items recorded no change.
