Encounter: Police claim killing robbers in shootout

Two alleged robbers were killed during an encounter with the police in Sohrab Goth area on Wednesday night. DSP Qamar Ahmed said that the two armed men were busy looting a medical store in the industrial area, when a police patrol challenged them. Both the robbers were killed in an exchange of fire. Their bodies were shifted to Edhi morgue for identification. In another incident, a fruit vendor, Mubarak Khan, 40, was shot dead in Korangi area. The deceased was on his way home when armed motorcyclists shot and killed him apparently over personal enmity. A young man identified as Faisal Baloch was killed when unidentified persons shot and killed him at Gharib Shah Road within the limits of Kalakot police station. Police officials said that deceased was going somewhere when unidentified persons targeted and killed him. Meanwhile, an unidentified man was killed in a firing incident in New Karachi.
