MQM chief announces canvassing campaign in Punjab

Altaf says conspiracies were afoot to divide and weaken the party but was certain they would not succeed

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said on Wednesday that Pakistan does not want war with India, but warned that should not be seen as a weakness, Express News reported.

Addressing party workers via telephone, the MQM chief said that they were waiting for orders. The day they received the orders, they would don their shrouds and enter the battlefield.

MQM members should not give in to their egos

Criticising some party workers for becoming too self engrossed, Hussain advised MQM office-bearers to treat their fellow workers kindly and sympathetically and try to help them in every manner.

The MQM supremo said office-bearers and workers should not become overbearing while dealing with the public. Instead, the public should be approached with humility, he added.
