A scuffle broke out between a passenger and railways police over ticketing

A passenger was killed on Wednesday on a Rawalpindi-bound train as a result of alleged police torture over a ticket scuffle, Express News reported.
According to reports, a fight broke out between a ticket checker and a passenger over an issue involving ticketing. Railways police had to be called to resolve the issue and they beat up the passenger resulting in his death.
The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Saleem. The train, Mehar Express, was en route to Rawalpindi from Multan.
A case has been registered against the railway police officials.
Railways Minister Saad Rafique has taken notice of the incident and directed DG Railways Munir Chishti to investigate the involvement of railways police. Further, an investigative team has been formed under the supervision of DIG Shariq Kamal to probe into the incident.
