Clean drinking water: CM reviews Saaf Pani Project
Chief minster said that the project was of vital importance and the government was spending billions of rupees on it

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Sunday that public health and quality of life were inextricably linked to the provision of potable water. He was chairing a meeting convened to review the Saaf Pani Project. The chief minster said that the project was of vital importance and the government was spending billions of rupees on it. The chief minister said that past governments had wasted precious time and directed officials to launch the project as soon as possible. He further instructed them to complete project early. The chief minister directed the officials to expand the project to cover 18 districts instead of 12 in its first phase. He instructed them to formulate plans to extend the project to the remaining 18 districts. Sharif directed the officials to also formulate plans regarding the rehabilitation of non-functional water schemes. He also instructed them to formulate separate plans for urban conglomerations in the province.
