Museum upgrade: Rs15.9 million for conservation laboratory
Modern conservation tools will be a step forward in conservation and preservation of the museum’s artefacts
BAHAWALPUR:
Bahawalpur Museum Director Hafiz Hussain Ahmad Madni on Friday said the Buildings Department had requested Rs15.9 million from the Finance Department for the construction of a conservation laboratory building.
He said the PC-1 of the project had been sent to the government for approval.
He was addressing a meeting on museum development. He said a laboratory equipped with modern conservation tools would be a step forward in conservation and preservation of the museum’s artefacts.
He said a research team was needed to study artefacts at the museum before restoring them. He said a reference library was also needed at the museum.
