Inflation: Index falls 0.18% during week
Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group rose 6.35%

The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended October 2 registered a fall of 0.18% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group stood at 209.71 points against 210.08 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group also dropped 0.13% from 217.74 points in the previous week to 217.02 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group rose 6.35%. During the week, average prices of 10 items in a selected basket of goods fell, prices of 14 items rose and rates of remaining 29 items recorded no change.
