Wahab Riaz ruled out of the Test series after injuring his right abdominal muscles.
Pakistan were dealt another major blow when fast-bowler Wahab Riaz was ruled out of the Test series after injuring his right abdominal muscles. The hosts had lost batsman Mohammad Yousuf before the toss on the first morning.
“Riaz has been suggested rest for four to five weeks and although he’d be able to bat in this Test, he won’t be able to take part in the next match,” said team manager Intikhab Alam.
Alam added that no replacement will be sought as the squad includes Mohammad Sami and Tanvir Ahmed.
