Model Town Violence: Larger bench to hear plea on report
Sheraz Zaka said commission had forwarded its report to the government on August 9 but it had failed to make it public
LAHORE:
Chief justice of Lahore High Court constituted a larger bench on Wednesday to hear a petition regarding the failure of the government to make public a judicial commission’s report on the June 17 Model Town violence.
Sheraz Zaka said the commission had forwarded its report to the government on August 9 but it had failed to make it public. Zaka said the government was trying to suppress the report as it had held the chief minister, former law minister and police responsible for the incident. He asked for directions to reveal the findings. The bench will resume hearing on October 3.
