Security Alert: Faisalabad police finalise Eid security
There is an increased risk of robberies at bazaars
FAISALABAD:
Police will be on alert to improve security on Eidul Azha. Faisalabad City Police Officer (CPO) Dr Sohail Habib Tajik said on Wednesday that street crime tended to increase ahead of Eid. “Swindlers and robbers try to target cattle dealers and the people who are out to buy sacrificial animals. There is also an increased risk of robberies at bazaars. That is why we have decided to tighten security at the entry and exit points of the city starting from Friday,” Tajik said. He said that police pickets had been set up at 130 places in Faisalabad. “More than 1,400 policemen will perform security duty at these pickets for three days. All the deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) have been instructed to monitor these pickets,” the CPO said.
