KARACHI:

The Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) decided to postpone their strike till Friday after the Sindh government assured them their demands will be met. ASWJ leader Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqui told the media that a four-member delegation of the Sindh government, under the supervision of home secretary Niaz Abbasi, met them and assured them that a committee to probe the ‘extra- judicial’ killing of their local leader, Shahid Mama, will be formed. He promised that all information on the arrested activists of ASWJ will be provided till Friday, added Farooqui.  “We did not want a confrontation with institutions but we have been victimised so we raised our voices,” he said.
