Boundary lines: Qureshi supports creation of new provinces
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf's (PTI) president Shah Mehmood Qureshi is ready to lend support for the creation of new provinces in the country. He said that a committee of experts should be formed to undertake the task.
He didn't, however, express approval for the Muttahida Qaumi Movement's demand for a division of Sindh.
"The new provinces should be created according to the wishes of the people," he said while talking to the media on Sunday at Lal Shahbaz Qalandar's shrine in Sehwan.
The issue of creating one or more provinces in Sindh has always been vehemently rejected by the Sindhi population. Mainstream political parties like Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), factions of Pakistan Muslim League and even the religious political parties have always opposed any change in the province's geographical status.
He said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan will visit Sindh after his public meetings in Lahore and Multan.
