Standing Together: Eid gifts to be distributed on Sept 29

Addressing a meeting, the DCO said Eid gifts would be distributed among 10,600 people.

The government will begin distributing Eid gifts to families of flood-hit from September 2, said Bahawalpur District Coordination Officer Imran Sikander Baloch on Friday. Addressing a meeting, the DCO said Eid gifts would be distributed among 10,600 people. He said Rs260 million had been allocated for the propose. He said the NADRA had set up counters at the Punjab Bank to distribute aid. Baloch said in Uch Sharif, two centres has been set up in Boys High School and the TMA’s office. He said the government would distribute Rs25,000 among the families affected by the floods. He said the NADRA and the Bank of Punjab would verify the transactions. He said four committees had been constituted to monitor cash distribution. Baloch said if there were any complaints in this regard, a district monitoring committee member would make a ruling in a day. He said in Bahawalpur,  as many as 12 villages had been declared disaster-hit following the floods, including Khairpur Jadeed, Daulatpur, Makhan Bela, Bakhtiari, Chak Kehil, Bait Ahmad, Rasoolpur, Shakrani, Jageer Sadiqabad, Kachi Shakrani, Ghumani and Bhooran. He said after Eid, the government would begin survey of damages caused by the flood to crops and homes. He said the government was dedicated to addressing problems of the flood-hit areas and would leave no stoned unturned to address their grievances as soon as possible.
