Ink used in polling was not that proposed by NADRA, damaging the quality of around 1,590 votes
LAHORE:
NADRA has submitted its report on the scrutiny of votes for the provincial assembly seat of Lahore constituency PP-147 during 2013 general elections. The report stated that in compliance with orders received from the Election Tribunal-Lahore, NADRA carried out the examination of the election material of PP-147 Lahore-XI polling stations. “In six polling stations as many as 3,768 votes were polled. A total of 3,049 votes or 80.91% (including 1,459 authenticated and 1,590 bad quality votes) are with CNIC whereas another 23 votes or 0.6% were found otherwise (two duplicate voters on used counterfoils, 15 used counterfoils without fingerprints and six fingerprints failing authentication). Another 696 votes or 18.4% could not be processed due to invalid CNIC mentioned on used counterfoils or used counterfoils without CNIC mentioned over it.” It was also observed that the ink used in polling was not that proposed by NADRA. This has resulted in damaging the quality of around 1,590 votes as NADRA was unable to decipher them.
